Those that know the man behind the legend, may or may not be aware that I enjoy playing chess. In my early teens I was better than average - he says with a smug look of satisfaction etched across his face - and to this day I'm a hard nut to crack on the old white and black board.

So with my history of chess I didn't think there were many surprises that the old game could hurl at me. Not for the first time recently - fuck you David Haye - I was wrong.
