The problem isnt the quality of players, the fact is Gerrard, Rooney, Ashley Cole, Lampard are all pretty close to world class, and the likes of Terry and Johnson are the step down. The problem is getting them to play as a team and not as a group of star players. The quality of the players themselves isnt the problem, its their ability to gel the way Spain and Brazil do. ReplyDeletehmm Spain and Brazil do gel as a side but they also have individuals players that are genuine world class. These two factors combined it was makes them serious world cup contenders.
ReplyDeleteEngland could perform better if they were more of a team, but they would come unstuck ultimately because the players aren't world class standard.
